My Mug/About Me
My name is Tyy Withrow, I moved back up to Seattle from Dallas. I lived in Seattle for 27 years, moved to Dallas for 9 months and realized it wasn't for me!
I've gotten into photography because of my wife, she inspired me to go after something I'm passionate about and that's how this came to be. I'm always improving my skills and looking for new subjects to shoot. I shoot with my Sony A6500, and switch up the lens depending on the environment. I do love my 18-105 F/4 for everyday stuff in Jiu Jitsu. I recently picked up the Tamron 28-75 F/2.8 that I've been enjoying a lot as well.
My main subjects come from my main hobby of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I have been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for 12 years and am currently a fourth-degree brown belt under James "300" Foster. I currently help teach and assist with other coaching. I also ref throughout the PNW if I'm not taking pictures at the tournaments.
My other hobbies also include writing, playing board games, and reading. I have an abundance of board games and I will never have enough time to play them all. My favorite books include Name Of The Wind,Red Rising, and Sleeping Giants. I have a wonderful daughter, two dogs, a cat, and a tortoise, all of whom never want to work with me when I want to take pictures.
